“Instrumental Funk” is the first release in its genre, the concept of which belongs to a figure in the club scene. The ideological mastermind behind the compilation is DJ and fashion historian Anton Bolnykh, known as DJ Basic. For the record, he selected 12 instrumental tracks by the main stars of the domestic funk scene of the current century: Krivitsky, The Vicious Seeds, Kim & Buran, Rockid Sound Maschine, as well as the genre’s pioneers, the band The Soul Surfers. Moreover, the track “Ghetto Funk,” a B‑side from the project led by Igor Zhukovsky of “Surfers,” The Para‑Lytics, was recorded specifically for this compilation.
