The history and stage image of 'Boni neM

Russian parody rock band, created in 1993 in Moscow by Kirill Nemolyaev. The project was originally conceived as a musical irony on foreign pop music, and the band's name refers both to the legendary Boney M and the founder's surname. The first performances were held under the name 'Kardanny Val,' but after their television debut on the program 'MuzOboz,' the project got its modern name and became famous for its distinctive sound and scandalous image. Main Albums and Contribution

The debut album 'Melodies and Rhythms of Foreign Pop' (1995) brought the band their first wave of success: the heavy parody versions of disco hits were truly unique for the local audience. The second album, 'Melodies and Rhythms of Foreign Pop. Volume 2' (1997), was produced by Vladimir Kholstinin, and the third album — 'Neither "BE" Nor "ME" or In the Animal World' (2000) — cemented the band's reputation as the main satirists of the Russian rock scene. Despite frequent lineup changes, Nemolyaev always remained the unchanging leader.
